AWARD

  • Unified Story claims SAP Labs China MD Award 2022 - ACE Award - Product Success for SAP Analytics Cloud – AppDesign & UX Teams.

The aim of the MD (Managing Director's) Awards is to recognize individuals and teams that lead SAP Labs China to successfully deliver on strategic objectives. MD Award winners are role models, representing the aspirations of their strategic areas by reflecting corporate strategy based on three pillars: Product Success, Customer Success, and Innovation Success.

MILESTONE & IMPACTS

  • Rolled out Beta Release of Unified Story to 10 Beta Customers (e.g. RedBull, Bosch, BMW, Daimler, Porsche, Richemont), such as Red Bull: “We're excited about SAP's vision of bringing both together in a simplified and even more powerful user experience.“.

  • This innovation provides a unified story experience and empowers different users with different requirements to work together in one unified and powerful story.

  • Besides the seamless integration – between story and analytic applications, great UX and innovation features are implemented. This is a great testimony that we can drive big development innovation projects together as ONE team (PM, PO, Dev, UX, and UA). The Shanghai teams drove the Unified Story project delivery with 30 scrum teams + PM/UX/UA teams from 6 countries to make a successful delivery. 

  • The GA Release (in 2023) is when we’re going to share this success with our more than 6500 SAC customers worldwide.

  • Built up a great customer relationship and established a continuous dialogue and foundation for future collaborative customer engagements through regular customer and end-user involvement and the co-innovation program.

  • The Unified Story release was announced by Juergen Mueller at the TechEd '22 keynote. (TechEd 2022 Keynote Submission Video)

  • The Unified Story has been mentioned at the SAP Product Insights Summit from Malini as a BTPX Success Story

KEY LEARNING

  • Regular sync design and contribution-level efforts with stakeholders and design director & lead for transparency and alignment with big-picture initiatives.

  • Usability testing is one of the only activities that allows customers and partners direct access to SAP Product and Development teams. In these 60 minutes one on one feedback sessions users will usability test a series of screens to ensure UX workflows are where they expect them, the terminology makes sense, that features that are needed are there and those that are not needed are removed and so much more.

  • More importantly, by collecting provided feedback from the users on the way they work helps us to ensure that we build the right software solutions that meet the needs of customers’ business requirements. The feedback from users truly helps shape the product and influences future product releases, now that’s a win-win.
