Hello👋🏻, I’m Jingjing. Jing in Chinese is 晶 which means crystal 💎.
I’m now a UX designer working in SAP based in Shanghai, China.
I have experience working in global cross-organizational teams in different countries and diverse fields of the design profession 💼.
In a multicultural environment, I have learned how to engage with people of varied backgrounds and empathize with them ❤️.
Previously I was a student at the University of Washington (Go Dawgs 🐾 !),
studying landscape architecture and urban planning & design 🎨🍃⛰🌆
Before LA & UPD, I completed Bachelor’s degree (B.Arch) in China 🇨🇳.
When I’m not sitting in front of my computer screen, sketching or designing,
I’m probably hiking ⛰️, cooking👩🍳 or telling stories about my experience✈️.

ME, MYSELF & I
Who am I?
I’m Jingjing made in China, assembled in the US and Europe, and am ready to be distributed to the world. I’m an extroverted introvert and thoughtful observer thriving in a world of boundless creative possibilities. Coincidentally, I am a user experience and interaction designer driven by a vivid imagination, perpetual curiosity, and intentional design. Last summer, I was a User Experience Design intern at Himalaya based in Shanghai.
DESIGN & ME
How did I get started in design?
My determination and confidence to pursue education in design originate from rewarding experiences throughout my life. With my father working in architecture and structure field, I have been attracted and influenced by his directed projects. As I became more intellectually and emotionally mature in high school, I realized that urban design elements serve as the “eyes” and symbols of a city, constituting an integral part of modern urban architecture. My infinite thinking about design works aroused my ardent passion for art and design, which motivated me to choose the art and science of designing - Architecture as my major in college.
When I was studying architectural design in undergrad, I did interns in landscape and urban design fields as well. As a graduate student at CBE (College of Built Environments) in UW, I have been known that landscape design can greatly affect urban planning, and the rational design and distribution of landscapes can fully reflect the idea of Human-Centered City. And I’m graduating with a concurrent MLA/MUP Degrees in CBE from the University of Washington in June 2020.
LEARNING & EXPERIENCE
What did I study and experience in Seattle for 3 years?
My academic experience has since spanned 7+ years in design related fields including based in Seattle for around 3 years. Across these experiences, I honed in on my passion for cultivating and sustaining communities in digital and physical spaces which heavily informs and influences my design practice today. Based on past experience, I have developed a strong interest in both UX/product design and interaction design.
I grew up envisioning myself to serve people. And since taking my first design class, I have always been able to use my design skills to make a positive contribution to a team irrespective of the field. The ability to practice design thinking to build meaningful solutions which spark joy and eliminate frustration makes me believe this is the best way for me to achieve this vision.
